Everyone is always looking for the wonder plug or ignition component. I must say that the stock parts work pretty well. I began with Accel U groove plugs after installing headers. They saved the day as they are shorter and have removable caps. Make sure to tighten the caps with some pliers so they don't come loose. They are good quality and work well. In order to run a wider gap and get a hotter spark, you will need significantly more coil power. My opinion is that only very high horsepower engines will have any significant benefit from such a system. I also am using Accel wires. These yellow jobies look smart and have 90 degree boots to avoid the headers. They are spiral wire wound and do not degrade over time like carbon core wires. Carbon wires will increase in resistance and choke off the spark. Spiral wire core units, if cared for will never need replacement. The last addition was an Accel coil. This did nothing for performance and could not be installed where the stock unit went. Do not install one on the fire wall or the buzz will echo into the passenger compartment. For that matter, don't install one.
